*Abstract: Low-frequency Raman scattering is a spontaneous, non-elastic scattering produced by the local acoustic vibrations of nano- and sub-micron particles. It is a method to obtain information about the shape, size distribution, and interaction of these particles with electromagnetic radiation. Stimulated low-frequency Raman scattering is the corresponding stimulated process, which has high conversion efficiency and narrow spectral width. In this presentation, the fundamental principles, properties, and applications of stimulated low-frequency Raman scattering will be discussed. |
