摘要:

     The Cooper pairs in a two-dimensional chiral superfluid (chiral p, d and f-wave etc) carry quantized orbital angular momentum. This entails non-trivial topological properties, as is manifested in the presence of protected gapless chiral Majorana edge modes. On intuitive grounds, spontaneous supercurrent should arise at the edges of these systems, leading to nonvanishing total orbital angular momentum. The quest for this peculiar physics emerged in the context of superfluid 3He A-phase, as well as the putative chiral superconductors such as Sr2RuO4 and UPt3. In this talk, I will show that, rather surprisingly, the edge current, and henceforth the orbital angular momentum, vanish identically for all chiral superfluids except chiral p-wave. Generalizing to chiral superconductors on a lattice, a non-p-wave or an anisotropic p-wave state may support finite yet comparatively smaller current than that of an isotropic chiral p-wave. In the end I will discuss in detail how our theory may help to reconcile the putative chiral p-wave nature and the puzzling absence of edge current in Sr2RuO4.

简历:

Wen Huang received a bachelor degree from South China University of Technology in 2009, then in 2011 a master degree in experimental condensed matter physics from Simon Fraser University in Canada. After that, he switched to condensed matter theory and obtained his PhD from McMaster University in 2016. He has worked on various aspects of the putative topological chiral superconductor Sr2RuO4, and retains a broad interest in unconventional superconductivity and strongly correlated systems.
